BSTU develops FoodNet market

25/02/2021
Belgorod scientists from BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov, together with industrial partners, are already working on projects that can provide a breakthrough in the food market. The day before, experts presented new ideas in this promising area for the region.

As part of their participation in the world-class scientific and educational center "Innovative Solutions in the agro-industrial complex", scientists of the Technological University are implementing four projects. In particular, we are talking about creating a high-tech large-scale production of animal protein from fly larvae, a production complex for deep processing of vegetable oils based on an innovative technology of controlled organic synthesis. Included in the portfolio of projects and developments of BSTU scientists in the field of environmental management.

On the eve of the working meeting of the Regional Department of Science and Scientists of BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov, new developments for implementation in the world-class REC program "Innovative Solutions in the agro-industrial complex"were presented. Representatives of the university presented three projects developed jointly with companies in the region.

According to the university, this is a project for the digital transformation of food production, which is one of the most popular trends in the FoodNet market of the National Technology Initiative. It is worth noting that this market is included in the roadmap for the development of NTI in the Belgorod region.

The project "Reducing emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere with the treatment and utilization of manure and technological effluents by bioremediation methods at pig farms of the agro-industrial complex"was also presented. Its implementation will solve environmental problems associated with the accumulation and processing of waste from livestock enterprises. The project provides for the creation of a cost-effective technology for bioremediation of pig farm waste and a new generation of biologics for bioremediation for a specific agricultural sector, the university specified.

One more project is "Energy-and resource-saving technology for the production of low-clinker hydraulic binder based on metallurgical slags". All the works were approved and will be presented at the meeting of scientific and technological platforms of the Belgorod REC.
