The Novopesterevskaya school of the Guryevsky district summed up the results of the second season of the "Digital Agronomy" direction. 300 schoolchildren from Guryevsky, Promyshlennovsky and Yaya districts presented the results of their agricultural projects.

“Agronomy was not chosen by chance, the industry is in need of modern personnel and new projects. At present, REC Kuzbass experts are starting to develop the concept of the third season of Digital Agronomy, which involves an increase in laboratory research, monitoring of agricultural lands using unmanned aerial vehicles, "said Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kuzbass Irina Ganieva.

The results of the work - the results of laboratory observations and samples of the obtained harvest - were shown by the schoolchildren in their presentations. This season, the guys were growing an elite potato variety "Tanay". Under the guidance of their mentors - biology teachers - the students analyzed the germination of seed, learned to determine the level of starch using chemical analyzes. They also got acquainted with the work of a mobile digital weather station, studied modern methods of protecting crops from diseases and pests. In total, the children collected over 10 tons of potatoes in the school gardens.

The work of the school research and production teams was highly appreciated. The participants were presented with certificates of honor and mementos.

For reference. The vocational guidance educational project of the "REC Schools" has been operating in Kuzbass since 2020. In the first season, 200 schoolchildren from the region took part in it.
