More than 60 scientists and entrepreneurs took part in the conference of the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center "Science to Business"

Universities and research institutes presented promising research and development projects for introduction into production.

The Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences presented its own technology based on ultrahigh frequency generators and plasma complexes. It can be used to treat burns and wounds, perform sterilization of medical equipment and monitor the quality of biomaterials. The presented technology can also be useful in agriculture for disinfection of soil and seeds, sublimation of food products and the destruction of insect pests.

According to Alexey Kirillov, Head of the Innovation Programs Sector of the IPF RAS, domestic developments are practical in various fields. For example, another development of the Institute - the ADS-02 ultrasonic rail flaw detector, which allows detecting damage on the tracks, has already been successfully used on the railways of Russia. Two more devices - an ultrasonic strain gauge for monitoring rail tension and a complex for diagnosing defects on wheel pairs of wagons, are currently being tested and will soon be introduced thanks to the active assistance of the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center.

Another REC participant, R.E. Alekseev Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, presented flight and landing radars for unmanned aerial vehicles at the conference.

Other participants of the Nizhny Novgorod REC also presented their opportunities at the conference: Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N.I. Lobachevsky, Volga Research Medical University, Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, National Research University "Higher School of Economics" and the Institute of Chemistry of High-Purity Substances named after G.G. Ninth RAS.

According to Timur Khalitov, Advisor to the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region for Investment and Innovation, the main task of the conference "Science to Business" was to find production partners for universities and scientific organizations, as well as to introduce business to advanced inventions and research.

"The conference turned out to be useful for everyone: science will be able to receive new orders, and business will be able to implement new projects. Sometimes interesting scientific ideas remain gathering dust on the table, and the task of the REC is to help scientists commercialize their developments. Everyone benefits from such interaction," said Timur Khalitov, Director of the Nizhny Novgorod REC, Adviser to the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region on investment and innovation

The special guest of the conference was Xinchao Han, Deputy Director of the International Technological Union of the Chinese province of Guangdong. In 2022, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Nizhny Novgorod REC and the Guangdong Union signed an agreement on scientific and technological cooperation, which provides for facilitating the transfer of developments to the real sector of the economy.

"Like the Nizhny Novgorod REC, the Guangdong Union is also a link between scientists and entrepreneurs. We find a good team that has an interesting development and help promote it. In Nizhny Novgorod, we also see a number of interesting projects. Here I personally met many partners with whom we used to communicate only online," Xinchao Han said.

Among the participants of the conference from the business side were representatives of such companies as "Biemtek", "Krasny Anchor", "Atomnenergoproekt", Central Research Institute "Burevestnik", "Atomstroyproekt", "Hydrothermal", "APZ", "Hydromash named after V. I. Luzyanin", "NPP Salyut-27", "ZIP", "Inter-Complex-NN", "Synthesis of the Eye", "Himinvest" and others.
