The natural gas of the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field will be used to isolate helium. Such pilot tests will be possible thanks to an agreement signed between the Institute of Oil and Gas Problems SB RAS (Yakutsk), the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics named after S.A. Khristianovich SB RAS (Novosibirsk) and industrial partners LLC "Technology" (Moscow) and JSC "ALROSA-gas" (Novosibirsk Peaceful).

The first and important step of this interaction is the delivery of natural gas from the Srednebotuobinsk oil and gas condensate field with a high helium content to the ITPM SB RAS pilot plant for the extraction of helium from natural gas.

In May - June 2022, it is planned to conduct a series of pilot tests on real natural gas. Previously, only model mixtures were tested at the installation. The curator of the works is Alexander Klimentyev, Adviser to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to the President of the Russian Federation, head of the expert group "LNG and Gas Chemistry" Russian Gas Society.

The research is carried out within the framework of the technological project "Technologies for the extraction, transportation and storage of helium concentrate in Eastern Siberia", which is part of the Scientific and Educational Center "North: Territory of Sustainable Development".
