The head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev: "REC "North" is an effective system of support of socio-economic development of regions"

On June 14, 2022, the traditional report of the Head of Yakutia to the State Assembly (Il Tumen) took place The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on the activities of executive bodies of state power. The Head of the Republic presented to the People's Deputies information on key aspects of the socio-economic development of the republic for 2021.

Aisen Nikolaev said that in 2021, all executive authorities of the republic continued to act as operational headquarters on a daily and round-the-clock basis. Speaking about the development of the scientific branch of the region, he noted: "The Year of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation was marked by serious events in the scientific environment of the republic. The State Assembly (Il Tumen) adopted a new version of the law "On Science and State Scientific and Technical Policy", which provides for increasing the status and powers of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), expanding the scientific and intellectual potential of the republic."

An important achievement was the beginning of the implementation of the state program "Scientific and Technological development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)", aimed at creating an effective system of scientific support for priority areas of socio-economic development of the republic. The Scientific and Educational Center "North", created in partnership with the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka Krai, Magadan and Sakhalin Regions, has received the status of a world-class center. Now REC "North" is working in 5 cluster areas – on the development of energy supply, environmental management, activities in the cryolithozone, medicine and biotechnology, scientific developments aimed at import substitution. Agreements were signed with 16 industrial partners participating in the REC "North" program.

At the end of his speech, Aisen Nikolaev outlined the importance of building new targets in the context of strengthening the eastern vector of interests of our state.
