The forum brought together representatives of regional ministries and departments of the subjects of the Siberian Federal District, control and supervision bodies, enterprises of the coal and metallurgical industries, industry associations and waste processing enterprises, scientific and educational organizations.

Governor Sergei Tsivilev met with the forum participants and examined the exhibition “City. Ecology. Improvement ".
“Today, the attitude to the ecology of industrialists, including coal miners, is changing noticeably. Everyone understands that the development of coal and other industries is impossible without respect for the environment. The Siberian Forum is a confirmation of the great interest in this area. It is no coincidence that the forum is being held in Kuzbass. Our region has developed the Clean Coal - Green Kuzbass platform, which was supported by enterprises from other regions of the country and even from other countries of the world. The Kuzbass REC, which was created thanks to President Vladimir Putin, is of great assistance in the development of this area, ”said the Governor of Kuzbass.
Tsivilev instructed, following the forum, to draw up a resolution with specific recommendations to improve the environmental situation in the region. The results of the activities included in the document will be summed up at the next environmental forum. In addition, the governor announced the creation of a regional competition commission, which will consider all proposals of scientists and industrialists for the preservation of the environment with a view to further implementation.
According to the organizers, the forum contributes to the promotion of modern and effective environmental protection equipment, resource-saving technologies to the Siberian market, the development of environmentally friendly and safe industries, projects in the field of conservation of recreational resources and natural diversity.
Deputy Governor Andrey Panov at the round table “Clean coal - green Kuzbass. Scientific research. Technological solutions. Environmental Monitoring ”outlined the priority problems that need to be solved for the implementation of the platform“ Clean Coal - Green Kuzbass ”. This air pollution with suspended solids as a result of mining, processing, handling and transportation of coal, utilization and degassing of methane, the development of the waste processing industry. The Deputy Governor noted that the total percentage of use (processing, neutralization, disposal) of waste in the region is about 58%, and the share of neutralized and recycled waste of 1-4 hazard classes due to the disposal of accumulated waste was 110%.
“The environmental policy of Kuzbass should be based on two principles - the preservation and restoration of natural potential and the creation of comfortable living conditions for people,” Andrei Panov emphasized.
More than 60 companies presented their technologies and developments in the exposition part of the forum.
On the scientific and educational platform, you can get acquainted with the projects of the Robotics laboratory - the operation of technical devices of the residents of the Children's Technopark: Magnetic Heat Generator and Alternative Energy of Solar Batteries, elements of a system for monitoring the ecological state of the environment using quadrocopters, Climate Control Smart -greenhouse ”, soil analysis using the ScrachDuino robotic platform and other developments.
There are also ecological master classes that will interest the youngest visitors: "The use of recyclable materials in modeling and invention", "Amazing properties of electrical conductivity of products and salt dough", "Second life of waste paper" and others.
The interactive eco-center houses a demonstration area for a collection of exotic animals, where giant Achatina mollusks, Chilean shrub squirrels, red-eared and steppe turtles, and exotic insects are presented.
