In total, 1,406 universities of the world are represented in THE Impact Rankings by the end of 2022, of which 94 are Russian. Kemerovo State University is the only Kuzbass university in this prestigious list.

"Two Kuzbass universities have already received recognition at the highest international level over the past week. This is a high assessment of independent experts. Kuzbass is becoming a region where it is prestigious to study. We are creating a modern educational base in the universities of the region, through REC we are tying up joint projects of students, young scientists and production workers. All this is important so that graduates of our schools do not aspire to the capital's educational institutions, but on the contrary, come to us to receive higher education from other regions of the country," Governor Sergey Tsivilev stressed.

The main evaluation criteria of the rating are international student and teaching mobility, the number of international scholarship programs, the level of scientific research, contribution to innovation, citation of scientific articles, the level of educational services, etc.

Earlier, Kemerovo State Medical University received international accreditation in several areas.
