Kuzbass State Technical University and Chongqing University of Arts and Science (Chongqing, China) have been cooperating since 2020 in areas of mutual interest - education, science and innovative technologies. The launch of a new educational program in the field of training "Metalworking machines and complexes", the profile "Materials processing and technical control" strengthens mutually beneficial cooperation.
A competitive application for the opening of a joint network bachelor's degree program of the Chongqing University of Arts and Science has received support from the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The key rule of the program is that the partner university (KuzSTU) conducts at least a third of academic disciplines and provides training in the Russian language. The 3+1 project format implies that Chinese students will study at home for three years, and they will spend the last year of their studies in Kuzbass, where they will also defend their final qualifying work.
- CHUIN attaches great importance to the joint Chinese-Russian educational project with KuzSTU and will support its implementation as much as possible with material and financial resources, as well as actively contribute to the orderly development of the project, - said Huang Weijiu, Rector of CHUIN.
During the meeting, the parties signed an agreement on joint training of bachelors in the field of Environmental Engineering under the 2+2 program. Since 2020, a similar agreement between KuzSTU and CHUIN has been implemented in the field of training "Electronics and nanoelectronics", in 2021 the first set of students took place: they study in China for two years, and from 2023 – in the city of Kemerovo. Upon successful completion of their studies, Chinese students will receive two diplomas: a bachelor's degree established by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, issued by KuzSTU and a bachelor's degree issued by CHUIN.
- In the future, we plan to establish a bilateral exchange of students on these programs, - said Alexey Yakovlev, Rector of KuzSTU and added - Interacting within the framework of educational programs, we are moving towards scientific projects, today there are several topics that are being discussed, and I hope that in the future they will be implemented by joint teams of our universities.
We also recall that in 2021, KuzSTU and CHUIN launched a network educational project as part of the business program of the VI Eastern Economic Forum. Universities have combined educational resources to train young specialists in the postgraduate program in the field of mechanical engineering, chemical technologies, mining machines and complexes. At the moment, 11 graduate students are engaged in this program, they are assigned scientific supervisors from both the Russian and Chinese sides.
