The oil workers tested the cluster separation unit developed jointly with REC scientists

8/09/2021
The cluster separation unit, developed by scientists of the Department of Oil and Gas Technologies of Perm Polytechnic University (a participant of the REC "Rational Subsurface Use") and specialists of LUKOIL-PERM, was tested at the Yarino-Kamennolozhskoye field (CDNG No. 4, Dobryansky district).

The device allows you to separate the oil-containing liquid coming from the well into oil and reservoir water directly on the territory of the bush of deposits.

- "The classical separation system involves the transportation of oil-containing liquid for tens of kilometers to special installations, which requires high costs for their operation and maintenance of the appropriate infrastructure. The development will save hundreds of millions of rubles on these expenditure items, "said Pavel Ilyushin, director of the Perm Scientific and Educational Center" Rational Subsoil Use".

Igor Mazein, Chief Engineer of LUKOIL-PERM, noted that such solutions have existed for a long time, but they did not give the required result when conducting tests at the fields of the Kama region. "The installation developed by Perm scientists made it possible to achieve the necessary quality of water purification in order to use it for a reservoir pressure maintenance system," explained Igor Mazein.

According to the test results, the unit will be finalized, additionally automated for remote control, and then used in other fields of the Perm Region.
