A new audience of the Eurasian REC opened at the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences

On the World Science Day for Peace and Development, the Eurasian REC launched another new platform – the REC auditorium, which will now function at the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The classrooms of the Competence Development Center of the Eurasian REC are already functioning at five sites of the participants of the scientific and educational center. The opening ceremony of the auditorium was attended by Ruslan Kazykhanov, Adviser to the Head of the Republic of Belarus on Science, Irina Burenina, Director of the management company of the REC RB, Kamil Ramazanov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Zugura Rakhmatullina, young scientists - representatives of the academic community of the republic.

"The Republic actively invests and supports science. The Eurasian REC creates and modernizes infrastructure, supports university employees,

students and young scientists. This measure will be continued and scaled up to the academic sector. I hope that young scientists will work in the UFIC RAS, the largest scientific center in Russia, in a new updated space," Ruslan Kazykhanov said in his welcoming speech.

Irina Burenina, director of the management company of the REC RB, noted that the REC auditorium at the UFIC RAS turned out to be the largest and most spacious in area: "I hope that we help scientists look at the world more broadly – through the organization of scientific internships, the implementation of new educational programs and the renewal of infrastructure. We place our main bet on scientists and the maximum development of youth science."

UFIC RAS is a multidisciplinary scientific center where fundamental and applied research in the field of chemistry, biology and

genetics, mathematics, geology, breeding and seed production, physics, social sciences and humanities. Scientists of the scientific organization are actively implementing major scientific projects and are recipients of federal and republican grants.

The head of the REC youth laboratory, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Elena Kuzmina, told about the youth laboratory of the REC, created on the basis of the UFIC RAS. A young scientist in a new REC audience made a report on the tasks facing the youth laboratory and the current results. She noted that the team solves complex scientific and technical problems in electrochemical energy storage, and as a result of such research, it will be possible to develop batteries with high specific energy and low cost. Now the laboratory team is working on the creation of active materials for negative electrodes of lithium-ion and post-lithium-ion batteries based on petroleum raw materials, this will help solve the issue of import substitution when creating domestic batteries.

"Together with the Eurasian REC, we have created a new modern audience on our site, which we really need. Especially now, when we are actively working with young people – with schoolchildren and students, attracting them to science. Major scientific events will take place in the REC auditorium in the near future. I am sure that our scientists will work more productively in the modern space," said Vasily Martynenko, acting head of the UFIC RAS.

President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus Kamil Ramazanov noted that the results of the activities of the Eurasian REC are already noticeable in schools: "The popularization of science is impossible in non-modern premises. Thanks, among other things, to our REC, we see a positive trend – already more than 20% of schoolchildren dream of touching science. We are ready to get involved and also conduct various educational programs with schoolchildren."

On a day that reminds us of the importance of relevant, modern science for the qualitative development of everyday life, honored and young scientists were honored at the UFIC RAS. Diplomas and certificates of honor were awarded to researchers of the UFIC RAS, young scientists-fellows of the Head of Bashkortostan. President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic Kamil Ramazanov awarded Acting Head of the UFIC RAS Vasily Martynenko with a certificate of honor for his contribution to the development of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus.
