During the autumn, chemists of the PSNIU - participant of the REC "Rational Subsoil Use" completed the registration of six patents for inventions. Among them are two substances with antimicrobial activity, three methods of their preparation, as well as a hydrochloric acid corrosion inhibitor, which can significantly slow down the destruction of oilfield equipment.

Chemists of Perm University - organics, physical chemists, pharmacologists and pharmaceutical technologists are traditionally among the leaders in patent and licensing work.

"Highly qualified specialists and the availability of modern research equipment allow for in-depth research and development on a wide range, including the priority areas of the REC "Rational Subsoil Use", - comments Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, Doctor of Sciences Irina Mashevskaya.

Chemical technologies are one of the priority areas of the Perm REC. In total, in 2021, employees of the Faculty of Chemistry of PSNIU filed 48 patent applications.

"In the future, we plan to develop technologies for the production, storage and use of hydrogen and issues of carbon dioxide utilization. In order to introduce our developments into the real sector of the economy, to offer them for commercialization to public or private foundations or our industrial partners, to participate in R&D competitions, it is necessary that scientific results are protected by patents, including international ones," the head of the Faculty of Chemistry said.
