The organizers of the project are the Embassy of Germany in Moscow, the Helmholtz Center Potsdam - the German Center for Earth Research GFZ and the Moscow representative office of the Association. Helmholtz in partnership with the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The project involves holding a number of bilateral educational and scientific events over the next year.
During the discussion, which became one of the parts of the grand opening of the project, the participants discussed what contribution climate research makes to scientific diplomacy, how this contribution can be effectively used in practice, what European scientific diplomacy is and why we need it, how scientific diplomacy can contribute to the implementation of evidence-based policy, and whether scientific diplomacy can facilitate the transfer of scientific data into politics and strengthen Russian-German cooperation.
It is worth noting that one of the five key scientific and technological projects of the Perm REC is dedicated to developments in the field of climate-neutral energy and decarbonization.
