- Ivan, what kind of waste do you turn into something useful?
Waste products of livestock, poultry, crop production waste. In the Tyumen region, their disposal is an urgent problem. Several large poultry farms here annually produce a very large amount of waste. They poison the environment and reduce the quality of life of people in the vicinity of enterprises. I think everyone sometimes felt an unpleasant smell in the summer.
It turns out that the work of our team covers the real need of the region. This is the main reason why we have engaged in research on the thermal processing of agricultural waste.
Our main goal is not just to recycle, but also to get useful products that can make a profit.
- How does it work?
Agriculture ranks second in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. In the first place — energy. We also offer a carbon-neutral technology for processing animal and poultry waste products, as well as straw, pine nut shells into useful products. That is, due to the temperature effect on waste, which is biomass, we get high-carbon bio-carbon. And this product can be used as
fertilizer or even alternative fuel.
We use the method of layer pyrolysis, conduct tests on promising microwave pyrolysis. We have already determined the optimal parameters for processing some types of raw materials. There are the first results of research in climate chambers: we added biocarbon fertilizers to the soil, and studies show that the yield of wheat, for example, increases by 20%.
That is, as a result of waste processing, the anthropogenic load on the atmosphere is reduced.
The social tension caused by fetid smells becomes less. And we get a useful product with which we can enter the market and offer it to summer residents and large agricultural producers.
In the future, we will develop recommendations for the introduction of bio-carbon into the soil when growing wheat and other crops already in the field.
- How soon can this happen?
Now we are at the stage of searching for optimal processing conditions. We have the necessary laboratory facilities and plant layouts. Laboratory employees participate in projects to create production plants based on our ideas. But in order to proceed to the implementation of ideas in practice, it is necessary to perform a huge amount of work at the research level, to show the advantages of this method and the fundamental "applicability" of products
recycling. This is what we are actively doing.

Pyshminskaya poultry farm provides us with raw materials for research and search for effective ways to dispose of them. We are very grateful for this.
Cooperation is also underway with the Siberian Nut Company, with the company NPP Alavesta Engineering LLC from Kemerovo. For it, we solve the problems of obtaining smokeless fuels. We are open to any forms of cooperation and will be glad to have any new contacts.
- What determines the success of the project?
In addition to the standard issues of financing and team composition, it is important for us to change the attitude to waste. It is necessary to explain that this is primarily a valuable raw material, which, with further refinement, can give a number of useful products. People involved in this sector should believe in the ideas of scientists.
We are based on experience, experiments, use new, high-precision equipment and can confidently say that all the tasks will be successfully completed.
