Each winner will receive over 127 million rubles

More than 1.2 billion rubles will be allocated to support world-class scientific and educational centers in 2021. The list of grant recipients was approved by the order of the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

This year, 10 participants of scientific and educational centers operating in 20 regions will receive grants. These are Tyumen State University, Belgorod State National Research University, Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after Lomonosov, Ural Federal University, Kemerovo State University, Perm Federal Research Center, the Center for the Promotion of Scientific and Educational Activities of the Nizhny Novgorod REC, ANO "Institute of Regional Development", the Management Company of the REC of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the world-class Scientific and Educational Center "Tulatech".

The list of recipients was determined by the council, which is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Assistant to the President of Russia Andrey Fursenko. Grants are provided based on the results of the activities of these centers in 2020.

Mikhail Mishustin's order also approved the size of the grants themselves - more than 127 million rubles for each recipient. The federal budget has already provided over 1.2 billion rubles for these purposes.

World-class scientific and educational centers are innovative platforms that unite educational and scientific organizations with business. The goal is to build a modern model of research and development for the technological development of the country. By presidential decree, at least 15 such centers should be created in Russia in the coming years as part of the national project "Science".

"I am sure that Russian scientists are capable of achieving serious successes of global importance and ensuring the leadership of our country in science," Mikhail Mishustin said, announcing the decision to allocate funds at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on June 7.
