The signing of the agreement on the creation of the cluster took place as part of the opening of the 28th interregional medical and pharmaceutical exhibition-forum "Medpharm-2022".
The purpose of the Central Research and Development Center "Parma" is new developments of medicines and scientific and technological products in pharmaceuticals and related fields with the participation of industrial enterprises of the Perm Region, institutions of science and education, associations and associations, development institutes.
It is assumed that the customers of the cluster's services will be Russian pharmaceutical companies, chemical and food enterprises,
agricultural and medical industries.
Today, PGFA is one of the leading specialized universities in Russia, providing training for the drug supply system and the pharmaceutical industry. Perm School of Chemical Synthesis is considered one of the best in Russia. Since 2022, the PGFA has become a member of the Perm REC.
Thanks to the participation of the REC, along with the PGFA, other scientific, educational, industrial and other interested organizations will be able to join in solving the tasks of the new cluster.
The development of innovative pharmaceutical technologies (along with chemical and medical) is one of the key scientific and technological projects of the REC.
Already today, the Pharmaceutical Academy, together with another REC participant – Perm University (PSNIU), is implementing a project to create a technology for the industrial production of two active pharmaceutical substances (AFS). Within the framework of the project, technical specifications for the production of AFS were developed, together with the industrial partner of JSC Medisorb, clinical trials of drugs based on active pharmaceutical substances were conducted.
According to the decision of the REC Governing Council, as part of the support of scientific and technological projects at high-risk stages, the joint work of PGFA, PGNIU and Medisorba received grant support in the amount of 17 million rubles.
The creation of a cluster will expand the number and directions of such projects.
"Currently, in special economic conditions, the domestic pharmaceutical industry needs a breakthrough in the development and production of drugs, as well as in the creation of new technologies.
And enterprises that produce medicines and other drugs need highly competent specialists, who are currently not being trained in sufficient numbers in the country. The creation of this cluster will dramatically expand the opportunities of the Kama region in the direction of the production of innovative products within the region and show its effectiveness in the near future," said Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of the Perm Region.
Also these days there is a series of scientific and educational events dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Perm Pharmaceutical Academy.
