On May 20, at 11.00 o'clock, the final of the regional stage of the tenth Russian championship "Air Engineering School" will take place at the Pervushino airfield in Ufa. In the program: launches of rockets and aircraft with the performance of flight tasks.
– This is a great opportunity for the guys from Bashkortostan, who are fond of aviation and cosmonautics, to unleash their potential at home, on their native land. We are creating a continuous trajectory of engineering and technical education in the field of aviation and rocket engineering in the region for talented schoolchildren and students," said Sergey Novikov, Rector of Ufa State Aviation Technical University.
The regional stage of the Russian championship "Air Engineering School" of Moscow State University and the State Corporation "Roscosmos" is held for the first time in the Republic of Bashkortostan on the basis of the Ufa Aviation Technical School (UAT) - a structural unit of UGATU with the assistance of the Bashkortostan branch of the Federation of Cosmonautics.
For many years, UAT and UGATU students have successfully participated in the championship in Moscow: in winter, in the qualifying round, teams defended projects, attended lectures, excursions, and in summer launched ready-made devices.
This year, for the first time, the final of the regional stage will be held in Bashkiria. It is organized in the form of competitions of school and student teams. Students of grades 8-11 of secondary schools, lyceums, colleges and institutions of additional education, as well as students of technical schools and universities are allowed to participate. A necessary condition is the presence of a leader and a captain in the team (from among the students).
Teams of schoolchildren and students of technical schools and universities who have successfully prepared their models of rockets, airplanes and aircraft in the GIRD and UAV leagues will participate in the final of the 2021 championship. ("GIRD" stands for "jet propulsion research group" - that was the name of S.P. Korolev's group, from which the entire Soviet space project was born, "UAVs" are unmanned aerial vehicles.)
The purpose of the event is the development of scientific and technical creativity of young people, the development of knowledge in specialties related to aviation and rocket and space technology. To create existing models of aerospace vehicles of varying complexity, the guys go through all stages of the technical project: from design development to the launch of aircraft.
