In the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as in the whole country, there is a tendency to expand the areas under perennial forage grasses. One of the most important conditions for increasing the yield of fodder crops is the introduction into production of the most productive and valuable quality varieties that meet the requirements of modern intensive feed production.

In the Bashkir Research Institute of Agriculture, breeders have already created a number of popular alfalfa varieties: Ufa 7, Bibinur, Galiya, Chishminskaya 130, Chishminskaya 131.

Alfalfa is called the queen of the fields in many countries of the world. It is characterized by high yield of green mass and seeds, drought resistance, rapid regrowth after mowing, long productive longevity. This is a culture used both for bleaching and for foraging. Its green mass is especially valuable for breeding stock, young animals, high-yielding cows and other types of productive livestock. In addition, by including this valuable forage crop in crop rotations, soil fertility can be improved.

A new variety of alfalfa of the changeable Memory of Yenikeyev, created in creative collaboration with the V.R. Williams Federal Research Center, is included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements Approved for Use and a Patent has been obtained for it certifying the priority of the breeding achievement.
