A participant of the REC "North" within the framework of the science week will hold large-scale educational events for all residents of Yakutia

In the period from February 7 to 11 in Yakutsk, more than 40 scientific events of various formats will be held by the North-Eastern Federal University. The events can be attended not only by students and university staff, but also by residents of the city of Yakutsk: seminars, popular science and open lectures will be held, as well as a screening of the documentary film "The future is ours?"

On February 8, the main event of the Science Week will take place - a solemn meeting dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Russian Science at NEFU. At the event, it is planned to award successful researchers and university staff who have made a significant contribution to the development of science, the names of the winners of the 2022 nomination contest will be announced in the following areas: "The best scientific article", "The Best scientific and educational lecture" and "The Best research work of students".

In addition, as part of the All-Russian actions, NEFU will show the popular science film "The Future is ours?", provided by the Festival of Current Scientific Cinema. The show will take place on February 7 at 16:00 at the Sergelyakh Lights Cultural Center.

Also, popular scientific lectures for schoolchildren, students and postgraduates will be organized at the NEFU site, where five young scientists of the university - heads of youth scientific laboratories created within the framework of the national project "Science and Universities" will be speakers.

"As part of the fulfillment of the tasks of the Decade of Science and Technology, NEFU holds many popular scientific events. For the first time, a seminar will be held for researchers planning to popularize science by promoting their brand of a scientist in the media space. The Student Scientific Society will also take an active part – this year they will independently hold two events: Science Day with the NEFU SNO and Science Hack Day. The participants of the society will hold master classes and debates.

Science Hack Day is a blitz hackathon where teams will create creative scientific projects," said Ninel Malysheva, Head of the NEFU Department of Science and Innovation.

Additionally, a photo exhibition "Young Scientists – the Future of Russia" will open at the Boiling Point of NEFU on February 8, from February 7 to February 10, 16 NEFU researchers will give scientific lectures in nine schools of the city of Yakutsk as part of the All-Russian campaign "Scientists to Schools". On February 10, everyone can visit the NEFU museums – an open day will be held at the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography, the P.A. Lazarev Mammoth Museum and the Zoological Museum with a unique program aimed at popularizing scientific knowledge among children of different age categories. The event is organized within the framework of the project "University Museums for children".
