REC participants joined the forum "Not a day without science"

Scientists and leaders of the participants of the Perm REC, including Perm University (PSNIU), Perm Polytechnic Institute (PNIPU) PFIC UrO RAS and JSC "PNPPK" took part in the VI forum "Not a day without science" dedicated to the memory of physicist Sergei Kapitsa, which was held in Perm on November 10-11. The venues of the forum were the Watch Factory space and the children's technopark "Quantorium Photonics".

Over two days, the forum hosted more than 10 lectures from scientists from Perm, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Moscow in the fields of biology, economics, immunology, chemistry, astronomy, physics and others. The topics of the lectures were education and cognition in the post-scientific world, the fight against coronavirus, research of the future world, astronomical climate, biophotonics, synthetic biology, money for the physical economy, etc.

Among the speakers of the forum are Valery Matveenko, Scientific Director of the Perm Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexey Andreev, General Director of the PNPPK, Tatiana Lisina, Head of the Laboratory of Agrobiophotonics of the PNIISC PFIC of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Lapinov, Head of the Laboratory of Millimeter Radio Astronomy of the Department of Radio Receiving Equipment and Millimeter Radio Astronomy of the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, writer Vadim Panov, Head of the Department of Applied Physics of PNRPU Dmitry Bratsun, Chief Research Associate of NIIRFiOE Viktor Kryshtop, Dmitry Zolotarev, Advisor to the General Director of the Center for Special Circuit Engineering Group, and a number of other experts and scientists from PSNIU, PNRPU and PFIC UrO RAS.

The forum also hosted a hackathon "Artificial Intelligence for UAV control" and a hackathon "At the speed of light", the purpose of which was to design images of the future. In addition, those who wished could go on an excursion to the PFIC of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and also visit the satellite event of the Science Fiction Festival (in PSNIU), where there were five venues - the zone of ideas, the zone of practical applicability, the zone of technology, the zone of creativity and the zone of entertainment. The purpose of this year's festival is to show the way from the emergence of an idea to its implementation. At the festival, aimed at schoolchildren, they discussed how ideas are generated, taught thinking techniques, and introduced how ideas turn into knowledge.
