The 2022 ranking is the fifth wave of research on entrepreneurial universities and business schools. It is part of a comprehensive project to assess transformations in the field of science and education, which the Expert Center started in 2016.
"Russian universities, together with development institutes and corporations, can make a significant contribution to the expansion of the funnel of serial technology entrepreneurs," the rating compilers note.
During the project, the authors identified and analyzed startups created by graduates of Russian universities and prominent in the global market. The founders of startups who graduated from a particular university, startups that appeared at the university, the share of projects that received support, as well as the volume of investments were taken into account.
The rating includes almost 50 universities and business schools. PSNIU is located on the 32nd line of the rating, PNRPU – on the 35th line. Among the participants of the rating is also the partner of the Perm REC Kazan Federal University.
REC participating universities are actively developing tools to support student entrepreneurship. So recently Perm University became one of the universities that will conduct trainings on technological entrepreneurship commissioned by MIPT within the framework of the federal project "Platform of Student Technological Entrepreneurship". In addition, the PSNIU, as well as the Perm Agrarian and Technological University, where the Agrotechniver acceleration program is being implemented, are considering the possibility of presenting a startup and a project as a graduation thesis.
"Already today, students of the Faculty of Economics of PSNIU in a pilot mode can defend a business initiative as a thesis. Soon they will be joined by geographers who will be able to present an applied project commissioned by industrial and business structures to complete their bachelor's degree.
The possibilities of cooperation between students of different faculties for the creation and promotion of innovative products are especially interesting," says Dmitry Krasilnikov, Rector of PSNIU.
