In the museum "Archeology, Ethnography and Ecology of Siberia" of KemSU (the basic organization of the REC "Kuzbass") A unique exhibition project "Born of Revolution: Money of the Civil War in Russia" has been opened. The exposition is timed to the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Imperial Russian Geographical Society and the 300th anniversary of Kuzbass.

The organizers were the Kemerovo Regional branch of the All-Russian public organization "Russian Geographical Society" and the Museum "Archeology, Ethnography and Ecology of Siberia" of Kemerovo State University.

The exposition presents authentic banknotes that were in circulation on the territory of the former Russian Empire in 1918-1923 – more than a hundred genuine banknotes, bonds and exchange stamps from private collections and museum funds, as well as the banknote series of the Russian Empire at the beginning of 1917 (issues of the tsarist and Provisional governments, the Council of People's Commissars) and "Duma" money, the first Soviet banknotes – "pyatakovka", "kerenki", money from the Rostov office of the State Bank. Of considerable interest are banknotes and short-term loan bonds issued by the Provisional Siberian Government and the government of Admiral Kolchak in 1918-1920, money from independent Ukraine and Transcaucasia, rubles and German stamps for the occupied territories, banknotes of four Soviet issues.

Here are also photos and brief biographical information about people who organized and supported the money circulation system in the state in the conditions of the chaos of wartime. These are the governor of the State Bank of the Russian Empire Ivan Shipov, the manager of the Rostov office Romuald Gulbin, a comrade of the Minister of Finance of Ukraine (under the UPR, Hetmanate and directory), People's Commissars of the RSFSR Nikolai Krestinsky and Grigory Sokolnikov, etc.
