Nizhny Novgorod awarded the winners of the competition of scientific and technological projects

The authors of the best ideas received more than 65 million rubles for their developments from the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center (REC).

12 of the 20 submitted projects won. Universities, scientific institutes and enterprises belonging to the Nizhny Novgorod REC took part in the competition. After all the winning projects come to life, 11 technologies will be transferred to the real sector of the economy and 9 patents for inventions will be obtained, as well as new jobs will be created.

Some of the winning projects are aimed at solving the problem of import substitution.

Students and teachers of the Nizhny Novgorod State University named after R.E. Alekseev, with the help of a production partner, launched an innovative line for the production of additives for motor oils without compromising the environment to replace foreign manufacturers that have left the Russian market. Their colleagues from the Volga Medical University, thanks to the victory in the competition for the allocated funds, will test the effectiveness of a new feed additive, which is designed to reduce the production of environmentally harmful methane in cows.

The award ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Andrey Sanosyan and Regional Minister of Education Olga Petrova.

Before awarding diplomas to the winners, Andrei Sanosyan noted that all the indicators by which the effectiveness of work is assessed by the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center have been fulfilled. So, in 2022, the number of funds that the Nizhny Novgorod REC attracts for the implementation of projects of its participants has increased. The amount of funding amounted to almost 400 million, 16 innovative projects were supported.

The Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region Olga Petrova expressed the opinion that the Nizhny Novgorod REC has become a platform where universities, institutes of the Academy of Sciences and enterprises have made friends. To date, the consortium includes 37 participants. Advisor to the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region for Investment and Innovation Timur Khalitov said that the number of organizations included in the REC will soon grow to 50 "In the three and a little years that the Nizhny Novgorod REC has been operating, we have managed to attract about one billion rubles for research and development in the interests of our participants. Thanks to this support, they have released innovative products worth 20 billion rubles, of which 7.5 billion fall in 2022. During the same period, the participants of the Nizhny Novgorod REC transferred 145 different technologies to production, 675 high-tech jobs were created," Timur Khalitov noted.

Nizhny Novgorod REC is one of the three leaders among all scientific and educational centers in Russia and is the operator of a federal grant to support innovative projects.
