The Government of the Perm Territory, the Regional Engineering Center Foundation (RCI), the Perm Scientific and Educational Center (REC) of the world level Rational Subsoil Use, PJSC Uralkali and leading regional mechanical engineering enterprises signed a memorandum on the creation of a consortium, the purpose of which is to develop technical solutions in the field of the use of electric transport in the mining industry. The unification will help to secure the work of miners. As the Governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Makhonin noted, until recently it was difficult to imagine that such a project could appear in the near future. “This is a rather interesting project - the electrification of mines. We are implementing it together with our industrial partners and in cooperation with the Rational Subsoil Use Research and Education Center. The issues of safety of work in the mine are extremely important for us, the opportunities for innovations in the mine business - transport, equipment, etc., are very important. I believe that the developments that we are planning to implement now are the technologies of the future. And they will certainly help to make the extraction of potassium and magnesium salts more profitable. But the most important thing is that these developments will make it possible to safeguard the work of miners - residents of the Perm Territory and the Solikamsk-Bereznikovskaya agglomeration, ”stressed the head of the Kama region Dmitry Makhonin.

Regional authorities and enterprises - members of the consortium intend to establish an exchange of professional knowledge, skills and abilities of employees involved in the implementation of programs, projects and activities within the framework of joint activities. The parties also agreed to provide each other with information about business relations, the experience of the consortium members in production, scientific and innovative activities and other information in order to develop the use of electric transport in the mining industry.

PJSC Uralkali CEO Vitaly Lauk expressed interest in expanding the use of electric transport jointly with the leadership of the Perm Territory and other enterprises: “Uralkali is effectively operating along the entire chain - from the extraction of potash ore to the supply of finished products to consumers around the world. The signing of this memorandum will provide a powerful breakthrough in the use of electric vehicles in the mining industry. This document confirms the readiness of the companies and the Perm Territory for joint activities, the purpose of which is to reach a new technological and economic level in the use of electric transport in the mining industry. "

The created consortium is open to all market participants and does not imply any restrictions on the independence and autonomy of the members of the association. Participation in the consortium is voluntary and free of charge.
