The XV All-Russian Scientific Conference "Membranes-2022" has started in the Tula region

On September 27, the XV All-Russian Scientific Conference "Membranes-2022" started in the Tula region. The event brought together about two hundred leading representatives of domestic membrane science and employees of industrial structures developing membrane technologies. The conference is co-organized by the D. I. Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology.

"In the Tula region, much attention is paid to the development of science, universities are actively developing, such large-scale projects as the Composite Valley Research Center and the Tulatech Research Center are successfully operating, whose participant, the D. I. Mendeleev RCTU, is the co-organizer of the conference that started today. Events of this level are necessary for the formation of a scientific community, the exchange of experience, the study of best practices and the development of their own competencies of scientists. I express my gratitude to the organizer for choosing the Tula region as a location," commented Anton Emelianenko, Chairman of the Tula Region for Science and Innovation.

The key reports presented at the conference are devoted to the latest achievements in such areas as: new membrane materials, processes and technologies; hybrid membrane processes; wastewater and natural water treatment; separation and purification of biological products and medicines; desalination and concentration processes; highly efficient gas separation; membrane sensors; membrane catalysis; fuel cells and obtaining of hydrogen.

Within the framework of the conference, round tables will be held to exchange views on topical scientific issues and discuss the interim results of the activities of the Russian Membrane Community. The conference will last until September 30, 2022.

"Russian scientists have made and continue to make a huge contribution to the development of membrane science and technology. Membranes are high-tech products of intersectoral application, without which it is impossible to breakthrough the development of basic and high-tech sectors of the economy, the development of science, as well as the effective solution of important tasks of the social sphere and environmental problems," said Ilya Vorotyntsev, co-chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, Acting Rector of the D. I. Mendeleev Russian State Technical University.

D. I. Mendeleev RCTU organizes the conference "Membranes-2022" together with the A.V. Topchiev Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the support of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
