For the first time, KemSMU (participant of the KuZbass REC) received international accreditation

Kemerovo State Medical University has received accreditation from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).

Kemerovo State Medical University has received accreditation from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). This confirms the compliance of higher education received at the Kuzbass university with international standards and makes it possible to export educational services.

"Recognition at the international level is the result of many years of well—coordinated work of the management and staff of the medical university, teaching staff, students. The independent expert Commission assessed the university's desire to improve the level of medical care to the population through the introduction of high scientific and ethical standards in the training of specialists. This event contributes to improving the image and strengthening the competitive position of the entire Kuzbass education, makes the region more attractive to applicants from Russia and abroad," said Governor Sergey Tsivilev.

Kemerovo State Medical University for the first time received international program accreditation of the specialties "Medical care", "Preventive Medicine" and "Pharmacy".

Obtaining this status gives KemSMU a number of competitive advantages: international recognition, comparability and convertibility of qualifications assigned by the university, confirmation of guarantees of high quality of education and services, compliance with international requirements; increasing the attractiveness of the university and trust from the main stakeholders (students, parents, employers); broad integration into the global educational space and access to the external educational services market; support for institutional changes not only in the medical university, but also at the level of the entire higher education system of the country.

For students at KemSMU, international accreditation also provides a number of advantages, including participation in various academic mobility programs at foreign partner universities; admission to other foreign universities for master's and doctoral programs; improving the competitiveness of graduates both on the national and international labor market, employment in the specialty in the country and abroad.

The international accreditation was conducted by the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency IAAR — the leading international accreditation agency for quality assurance of education.
