Kazan Federal University will become a participant of the REC "Rational Subsoil Use"

Perm World-class Scientific and Educational Center "Rational Subsoil Use" and Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University signed a cooperation agreement.

According to the document, which was solemnly signed by the Governor of the Perm Region Dmitry Mahonin and the acting rector of the university Dmitry Tayursky, the university becomes a member of the REC

The head of the Kama region noted that the implementation of projects with the largest universities and educational centers of the country is an effective tool for the development of the region.

"It is important for the regional authorities to attract new residents of scientific cooperation. It is a great honor to become a partner of one of the 10 federal universities. The university has high competencies and scientific achievements in many fields, including medicine, geology and oil and gas technologies, and is also a member of several international associations. I am sure that Perm REC and Kazan Federal University will have long-term and effective cooperation both in the field of training highly qualified personnel and in the implementation of scientific and technological initiatives," the governor stressed.

Among the promising areas of cooperation, both sides see advanced developments in the field of digitalization of oil and gas production and processing of hydrocarbons, as well as decarbonization, chemical and pharmaceutical technologies, mechanical engineering and a number of others. In all sectors, the Kama region and Tatarstan have unique research, developments and ongoing projects.

Interaction allows scientists, teachers and students of KFU to participate in scientific and technical councils and other scientific and educational events held by REC, as well as to be involved in solving current scientific and technological problems of REC participants and partners.

According to Dmitry Tayursky, REC acts as a tool for the development of cooperation between different regions, which ultimately will contribute not only to the innovative development of the subjects, but also to the economic and technological connectivity of the territories.

"Kazan Federal University is one of the leading universities in our country, a major educational and scientific center, widely known in the world and having a multidisciplinary structure of faculties and specialties. As part of the REC, the university gets the opportunity to expand its cooperation in the field of priority areas, one of which is rational oil refining and energy. Today, no one doubts the fact that it is very important to develop networking in any field. In close cooperation between universities, research centers and enterprises of various regions, it is possible to solve any difficult task by gathering all the best specialists in a network to develop a joint position on a specific issue, attracting the necessary resources of each member of the consortium," he said.

The Rector of KFU added that joining the REC "Rational Subsoil Use" will also allow implementing joint educational initiatives.

"We systematically attract participants to the REC who have exclusive competencies in the priority areas of science and education for us. For scientists, the REC becomes a convenient platform for the exchange of competencies, industrial partners get the opportunity to involve a wider expert community in solving urgent problems. And for students, this is an opportunity to study at a university in their hometown, but to gain knowledge from the best teachers in a particular field thanks to network programs," said Pavel Ilyushin, director of the ANO REC "Rational Subsoil Use".

Earlier, the participants of the REC were Perm State Medical University and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU). In total, the REC unites more than 10 scientific organizations and companies in the real sector, and as a partner cooperates with almost 10 major Russian companies in the field of oil and gas production, chemistry and petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, IT and telecommunications. REC "Rational Subsoil Use is a member of the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council.
