The head of the region presented a project to create a world-class interuniversity student campus of the Eurasian REC in Ufa and noted that the creation of the campus is among the breakthrough strategic projects of Bashkortostan.
Radiy Khabirov noted that the implementation of the project will have a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the region: it will scale science and give an opportunity to receive world-class education.
The Ufa Interuniversity Student Campus will unite the universities of the Eurasian REC and, according to the Head of the region, will become not only a center for interdisciplinary training, scientific work and a platform for meetings with industrial partners and potential employers.
Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, highly appreciated the architectural concept of the project and stressed that the republic had chosen the right, unique location to accommodate the interuniversity campus. The campus will be located in the center of Ufa, which will provide convenient transport accessibility that satisfies all logistics chains. This approach fully corresponds to the tasks set by the federal center, Dmitry Chernyshenko noted – campuses should become a point of attraction for students and urban residents.
Separately, Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that the creation of interuniversity campuses should become a powerful driver of the region's development and ensure high-quality economic growth. That is why, according to him, special attention should be paid to the connection of higher education with industrial partners and business, dealing not only with breakthrough research, but also with the commercialization of developments.
Dmitry Chernyshenko wished the region success in the implementation of the project:
"We are waiting for a high-quality application from Bashkortostan for the creation of a world-class interuniversity student campus of the Eurasian REC. After August 1, a decision will be made on the distribution of federal funding for the implementation of the project"
